Tyrannosaurus rex

Paleo Profile: Tyrannosaurs rex. T. rex is possibly one of the most complete dinosaurs found in the fossil record to date. This has given paleontologists a very rare view at an extinct species. It roamed throughout much of North America and is believed to be an opportunistic carnivore, meaning it would scavenge and hunt for prey. Much of its feeding behavior is still greatly debated. One thing's for sure, this Tyrant King along with its banana sized teeth and possibly one of the strongest bite forces of any known vertebrate is always going to be one of the most awe inspiring giants in the animal kingdom. Artists note: I finally stepped out and created the T. rex. I understand that this animal in particular is heavily studied and much of the information regarding its natural history is still being analyzed. With that being said I have done my best to base this drawing off of a complete recreation of known fossils. As for its color pattern, I went with broken lines due to the nature of extant species that ambush attack utilize this look to get as close to their prey undetected as possible. Also it makes it look cooler as a black and white concept piece.
