Tylosaurus proriger

Paleo Profile: Tylosaurus proriger. This denizen of the abyss has been nicknamed the "Tyrannosaurus of the Deep". One of the largest mosasaurs, Tylosaurus was thought to use its snout to ram its victims. With a retractable second set of jaws, pterygoid teeth, on the backside roof of its mouth, this marine lizard could swallow a shark in just a few bites. Mosasaurs are distant relatives to snakes and monitor lizards.
I felt that a mighty lizard would be a great way to bring back the Paleo Profiles. Enjoy!
